Monthly subscriptions cost $7 a month. Lunch for one person costs more than that these days, and it’s less than what the competition charges, and we’re giving you more in return. There is also an annual subscription option, where you get the whole year for $70, or the price of 10 months. These options will be payable by credit, debit or check card online, through secure transactions handled by Paypal. You don’t need a Paypal account to do it, either.
If you don’t like the idea of using your credit card online and would rather pay by check, we have options for that as well, though to keep paperwork down (we spend all our time reporting on Englewood, after all), we require that pay-by-mail subscriptions be made in 3-, 6-, or 12-month increments. Prices for these are the same as above.
We realize that this may be disappointing to some. Really, we would like to be able to offer this site free forever, but it’s just not economically feasible. It’s a matter of survival for the site, and for ourselves personally. We conceived this business because we were laid off by print newspapers. The print industry continues to circle the drain, cutting staff, paper size and quality in an effort to squeeze out a few more years of advertising revenue. News and event coverage is what we do, and there were no other jobs available. Times are tough. So we made our own opportunity — the American Way, right? — and we have done it in Englewood. Because we love it here. From the response we’ve gotten, it seems like Englewood loves us, too.
April 2010 was our biggest yet in terms of readership. How big was it? We had three times as much traffic as we had only a few months before. That’s pretty good. That shows that we’re doing something right. With your support, we think we can do better. As soon as the budget permits, we’ll be able to add to our staff and increase our coverage. Barring that, we’d be happy just to be able to continue as we are, but we will need your support to do so. We work seven days a week, sometimes 16 hours a day, to make this happen. All we want in return is for you, once a month, to buy us lunch for one. A cheap lunch for one.

Still need convincing?
We’ve got even more sales pitch here!
We accept all major credit cards and debit cards.
First, choose your subscription
This will take you to a Paypal page to make payment. While you are there you will be asked to create a password. This is separate from your Englewood Edge password and will be required if you ever need to change your payment info, credit card, etc.
We strongly advise you to make your Paypal password different from your Englewood Edge password, and make a physical record of it so you don’t forget. This way, if someone manages to find out your Englewood Edge password, they still can’t see your privileged payment info.
Note: To subscribe without an existing Paypal account, there is a link to simply use a credit card below the Paypal login form. Click that.
After completing your payment, you will be returned here to create your Englewood Edge user account if you don’t already have one, or attach your paid subscription to your existing account. Then you’re done!
