Welcome to the Englewood Marketplace! We’ve spent extra time making sure this part of our site meets our standards for quality and ease-of-use and hope very much that you’ll find it useful. Some things you should know:
For buyers:
- Your instructions are clear and easy: see something you like, and call the advertiser!
- We can not assume any responsibility for the truthfulness of the ads, or for the quality of any goods and/or services advertised herein.
- If you encounter problems with an advertiser — free items are not free, or you are charged more than advertised — please contact us immediately. We can not mediate transactions, but we can try to make sure problems don’t crop up again with the same advertisers.
- Be sure you tell advertisers you saw the ad on Englewood Edge!
For sellers:
- If you’re selling something for less than $500, advertising a job opening, or offering a pet to a good home, your ad is on us. We want to facilitate this kind of exchange within the community and this is one of the ways we’re doing it. We do require, however, that you set a price when selling something with a free ad. If you want to place an ad without declaring a price, you can, but you have to get a paid ad instead. Job and pet offers don’t require a price.
- Currently we are allowing one item per ad.
- Every Classified Ad, free and paid, comes with 250 words and one full-color picture, unless otherwise specified. Extra photos and text are available for a fee, though we do reccomend you keep the total length of the text in your ad from getting too long, because buyers wont read all of it. Give all the important info, maybe show a little bit of personality, but don’t write a book on the subject.
- All ads run on a weekly basis. You can choose up to 4 weeks initially, and/or renew for more weeks. If you need the ad taken down for any reason, contact us using the form on this page and we’ll have it down usually in the same day. We will refund unused weeks if necessary, but cannot refund partial weeks.
- We will send you a confirmation e-mail when the ad is ready to go online. Ads should go up the day after we recieve them, at 3 a.m., and be taken down 7 days later, also at 3 a.m. We can delay posting your ad to a later date at your request.
- We need to list contact info with your ad, and this means posting that info online. This can be a phone number without a name, or an e-mail address, or both. If you do want to include a name, that’s fine. However, we DO require that we get a phone number and name from you even if it doesn’t appear online so that we can contact you if we need to.
- PAYMENT: When you place a paid ad, you will be brought to a secure online payment page where you can place your ad by credit card. We’re processing payments through Pay-Pal, but you do not need a Pay-Pal account. You may find that you have to re-enter some of the same information you entered on the order form to make this payment. This is normal.
- If there are any problems with the ad, such as missing information or if you signed up for a free ad but don’t qualify for one, we’ll contact you to straighten things out. This may, however, cause a delay with your ad.
- We reserve the right to edit, rewrite or refuse any classified ad or service directory listing at our discretion. We take no responsibility for mistakes that appear in the ad, but will correct them as necessary and as soon as we can after you contact us. See “Contact us” below.
