Response to Engle­wood Edge arti­cle: “Man Whose Dog was Burned by Bomb Wants ‘Punks’ Brought to Justice”

We at Sun­coast Humane Soci­ety were sad­dened to read your Engle­wood Edge.com arti­cle regard­ing the alleged attack on Daniel Thoms and his dog Char­lie Brown. Vio­lence towards peo­ple or ani­mals should never be con­doned. This vio­lent act had to be very trau­matic for Char­lie Brown and his owner.

News: Sara­sota School chil­dren sing odes to Obama to music such as “The Bat­tle Hymn of the Repub­lic.”  Tax­pay­ers are upset our tax dol­lars are spent pro­mot­ing one-sided pol­i­tics in our ele­men­tary schools. If we want our chil­dren to learn pol­i­tics, we will teach them at home.

Super­in­ten­dent White’s office was con­tacted. Respon­si­ble: two teach­ers. They did not have per­mis­sion to teach the music. The teach­ers were not fired for insub­or­di­na­tion. They were, sup­pos­edly, rep­ri­manded with a let­ter in their per­sonal file.
