ENGLEWOOD — The Sun­coast Humane Societ Pet of the week is Myla, a 58-pound Amer­i­can Pit Bull/Labrador Retriever mix.

She is a happy-go-lucky girl who is in need of a per­ma­nent home. She is 5 years old, but you would think she is still a puppy with all the energy and play­ful­ness she maintains.

Myla loves other dogs. She also loves to swim and would enjoy spend­ing a lot of time at the beach or in a back­yard pool. If you are in need of a great ener­getic com­pan­ion to exer­cise with, Myla is the girl for you.

ENGLEWOOD – Chillie, an 8½-year-old domes­tic short­hair cat, is the Sun­coast Humane Soci­ety Pet of the Week.

Chillie is an inde­pen­dent cat but is very friendly and look­ing for a new home after liv­ing in the same home his entire life. He has lived with other cats and even a dog, and they all got along great.

ENGLEWOOD — Mur­phy, a hand­some 56-pound Bor­der Collie/Beagle mix, is this week’s Sun­coast Humane Soci­ety Pet of the Week.

He is the per­fect gen­tle­man and very well loved in his pre­vi­ous home. He is house­bro­ken and crate trained. He will need reg­u­lar brush­ing to keep his coat beau­ti­ful and he loves treats.

ENGLEWOOD – A cou­ple of recent grad­u­ates are being high­lighted this week as Sun­coast Humane Society’s Pets of the Week.

Rose and Brandy spent the past six weeks in a train­ing pro­gram called the Cell Dog Pro­gram in coop­er­a­tion with the Char­lotte County Sheriff’s Department.

Buddy is great with kids and loves other ani­mals, accord­ing to the SHS press release. He started out his life as an out­door dog, so adjust­ing to liv­ing inside may take a bit of patience and love.

Belle has long white whiskers and a cute, round face. She is a bit on the chubby side, and loves her big belly to be rubbed. She is a some­what inde­pen­dent cat who may not like to be picked up but will enjoy being petted.

ENGLEWOOD — Huck, the Sun­coast Humane Soci­ety Pet of the Week, is an 11-year-old Husky Mix weigh­ing 30 pounds. He has a hand­some, fluffy coat that will need reg­u­lar brush­ing, and bril­liant eyes – one brown and one blue.

You would never guess that Huck is a canine senior cit­i­zen. He has the play­ful spirit of a pup. Huck is full of enthu­si­asm for peo­ple and has enjoyed liv­ing with another dog. He likes to jump and dance around on his hind legs with a big smile on his face.

ENGLEWOOD – This week’s Sun­coast Humane Soci­ety Pet of the Week is Ty, a 4-year-old female cat who has an adorable bobbed tail. She is friendly and very affectionate.

Ty has been await­ing her for­ever home for quite some time. She loves the com­pany of other cats and enjoys curl­ing up in a ball for a cat nap.
