CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Oct. 26, 2017) – The Board of County Com­mis­sion­ers is seek­ing vol­un­teers for the fol­low­ing appointments:

Con­struc­tion Indus­try Licens­ing Board is seek­ing a vol­un­teer to rep­re­sent the “plumb­ing con­trac­tor” cat­e­gory. Vol­un­teer must be a res­i­dent of Char­lotte County for at least two years and be a licensed plumb­ing con­trac­tor. Length of term is until June 23, 2019. Envi­ron­men­tally Sen­si­tive Lands Over­sight Com­mit­tee is seek­ing one Business/Land Devel­op­ment Rep­re­sen­ta­tive vol­un­teer who must be a Char­lotte County res­i­dent. Man­a­sota and Sand­piper Advi­sory Com­mit­tee is seek­ing two vol­un­teers who must be res­i­dents of Man­a­sota Key or Sand­piper Key. Marine Advi­sory Com­mit­tee is seek­ing one vol­un­teer to serve as a Member-at-Large for a three-year term. Must be a res­i­dent of Char­lotte County with pref­er­ence for those who are in one of the des­ig­nated areas: fish­ing guide or tour boat oper­a­tions, bait and tackle oper­a­tors, com­mer­cial fish­ing indus­try, marina oper­a­tions, per­sonal water­craft or marine sales, as well as cer­ti­fied scuba div­ing pro­fes­sion.  Term will expire Dec. 31, 2020. Tourist Devel­op­ment Coun­cil is seek­ing one mem­ber to serve on the coun­cil. Mem­ber must be a rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the tourism indus­try who have demon­strated an inter­est in tourist devel­op­ment but who are not own­ers or oper­a­tors of motels, hotels, recre­ational vehi­cle parks or other tourist accom­mo­da­tions in the county. All appli­cants must be res­i­dents of Char­lotte County. The Tourist Devel­op­ment Coun­cil meets every other month at 9:00 a.m. in Mur­dock. Terms are for four years.   • MPO — Bicycle/Pedestrian Advi­sory Com­mit­tee (BPAC) is seek­ing a South County res­i­dent to serve on the BPAC. The BPAC reviews and makes rec­om­men­da­tions on trans­porta­tion plans and projects that the MPO Board will consider.
  • MPO – Cit­i­zens’ Advi­sory Com­mit­tee (CAC) is seek­ing a Char­lotte County res­i­dent to serve as an At-Large Rep­re­sen­ta­tive. The CAC reviews and makes rec­om­men­da­tions on trans­porta­tion plans and projects that the MPO Board will consider.
  • MPO — Char­lotte County Trans­porta­tion Dis­ad­van­taged Local Coor­di­nat­ing Board (LCB) is seek­ing one vol­un­teer rep­re­sent­ing the Pri­vate Trans­porta­tion Indus­try. The pur­pose of the LCB is to iden­tify local ser­vice needs and to pro­vide infor­ma­tion, advice, and direc­tion to the Com­mu­nity Trans­porta­tion Coor­di­na­tion of ser­vice to be pro­vided to the trans­porta­tion disadvantaged.
