ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – Michael Aloian, president and chief investment officer of the Trust and Investment Management Services division of Englewood Bank & Trust, recently joined the board of directors of The Florida Bankers Association (FBA).
Aloian is also on the board of the Florida Bankers Educational Foundation, an arm of the FBA.
FBA directors are nominated by their peers to serve two-year terms on the board. They are selected based upon their service to the FBA, community involvement and geographic region. Directors are responsible for setting policy and overseeing the general operation of the association.
“I am honored and delighted to join the board of the FBA and will work alongside my fellow directors to continue enhancing opportunities for our members while serving our customers and communities,” he said in an emailed statement.
Now in his 10th year at Englewood Bank & Trust, Aloian oversees departmental personnel and policies and manages the investments of trust clients. His clients include individuals, families and institutions throughout Florida.
Under Aloian’s leadership, the Trust and Investment Management Services division has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years. In 2012, the bank added “& Trust” to its name to acknowledge and promote the full service, local trust and investment management services offered at all four bank offices, as well as through the Venice and Tampa Trust & Investment Management Services offices.
Aloian is a director of Englewood Bank & Trust and its sister banks, Charlotte State Bank & Trust, First State Bank of Arcadia and Wauchula State Bank. In addition, the Harvard graduate is the immediate past chairman of the Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, for which he serves on the Investment Committee. He also served on the board of Chapters Health Care (formerly HPC Healthcare and parent organization of LifePath-Hospice) and is a member of the CFA Institute (which confirms the Chartered Financial Analyst designation).
