ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – Members of the Lemon Bay Garden Club celebrated the completion of driveway repairs with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Clubhouse, 480 Yale St. Olde Englewood.
Driveway improvements were funded, in part, with a $1,000 grant provided by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Inc. from the Joseph and Sylvia Bloom Unrestricted Fund.
Lemon Bay Garden Club (LBGC) was able to apply for an Immediate Impact Grant because our organization has a Giving Partner Profile. The Giving Partner is a valuable tool for funders who use it to make informed decisions on how they award grants.
This grant was in addition to the club’s participation in last years Giving Partner Challenge that provided LBGC with a $3,300 in unrestricted support.
LBGC will participate in the 2016 Giving Partner Challenge from noon Sept. 20 through noon Sept. 21. This year, The Patterson Foundation will match all repeat donors 1 to 1 up to $100 and new donors 2 to 1 up to $100. Community support is needed to maintain the clubhouse and gardens, to continue educational and civic programs, provide college scholarships and scholarships for children to attend Wekiva Youth Camp.
