EWD ends one ‘boil water’ notice, issues another

Englewood Water District is dealing with its second water main break in a week.

Englewood Water District is dealing with its second water main break in a week.

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – The Englewood Water District has rescinded one “boil water notice and issued another.

Due to a water main break, a “boil water” notice for the following streets:

  • STEWART STREET FROM CURTIS BOULEVARD TO OLD ENGLEWOOD ROAD
  • PINEAPPLE STREET FROM STEWART STREET TO SUNCREST LANE
  • ALL OF SUNCREST LANE
  • ALL OF OAK STREET

As a precaution, EWD advises all water used for drinking or cooking be boiled.

A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.

This notice will remain in effect until repairs are completed and a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.

Any questions should addressed to the Englewood Water District’s water distribution manager, Wayne Kershanick, at 474‑3217.

Meanwhile, the EWD has rescinded the  precautionary boil water notice for:

  • PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE FROM TWELFTH STREET TO OYSTER CREEK DRIVE
  • OYSTER CREEK DRIVE FROM PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE TO KENTUCKY AVENUE
  • KENTUCKY AVENUE FROM OYSTER CREEK DRIVE TO THIRTEENTH STREET

The water main break in that area has been repaired and a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.

Anyone with questions should contact the Englewood Water District’s water distribution manager, Wayne Kershanick, at 474‑3217.
