CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. –Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell issued the following statement Friday in the aftermath of Thursda night’s shootings in Dallas:

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the fallen officers in Dallas. I have authorized the wearing of mourning bands in recognition of their losses.  The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office embraces the partnerships, relationships and support we have with all citizens within the County we serve. We continuously strive to not only maintain but enhance and expand upon our community efforts in order to show our commitment to a professional and community based agency.

Safety has and always will be on the forefront for our staff as well as the citizens we serve. We insure all personal safety equipment is up-to-date and in proper working condition. Training within the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is a continuous endeavor based on mandates, current events/issues and safety.”
