Inurn­ment will be in Sara­sota National VA Cemetery

Charles Richard Rubes, 78, of Engle­wood, Fla., passed away Sat­ur­day, June 25, 2016, at Con­sulate Health Care of Port Char­lotte, Fla.

Born on April 5, 1938, in Orwell, Ohio, he had served in the U.S. Army dur­ing the Korean Con­flict. Mr. Rubes worked for AT&T (West­ern Elec­tric). He moved to Char­lotte County in 1987 from Wind­sor, Ohio.

Sur­vivors include his lov­ing wife of 53 years, Bar­bara A. Rubes of Engle­wood; a daugh­ter, Car­olyn (Richard) Marple of Rotonda West, Fla.; a son, David (Teri) Rubes of Eagleville, Tenn.; two broth­ers, James (Della) Rubes of North­field, Ohio, and Clarence (Alive) Rubes of Painesville, Ohio; and five grandchildren.

Inurn­ment will be in Sara­sota National VA Cemetery.
