ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – Kenneth William Metzger, 56, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 2, 1959, in Glen Burnie, Md., to John Edward Metzger and Evelyn (Wyper) Metzger, Kenny was employed as a paint shader for Duron Paint Company.
Kenny lived his life on his terms. He liked the hippie lifestyle, peace signs and anything tye dyed. He loved going out to breakfast at Stefano’s to see “hippie chick” or Maria’s Restaurant, where French vanilla creamer in his beer always struck up a conversation. Kenny also enjoyed beer, “bud,” talking with good friends and classic rock music.
He is survived by his son, Josh Metzger; his father, John E. Metzger and Jane; his only love, Joann Marie Marchak-Barnes; his breakfast wife and conscience, Evelyn “Evie” Lanza; and his best “buds” Peggy and Skeet Newlen, Karl, Suzy and Boo Olson, Tom Libertini, Michael Baker, Tom B., Hal, Tony, Cory, Jordan and Matthew. Also surviving are his two siblings, Johnny Metzger and Laura Burket; and his precious cat, Sunshine.
There will be a celebration of Kenny’s life at a later date.
