CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – Law enforcement officials continue to hunt the driver who killed a 14-year-old Port Charlotte boy Feb. 26 near Sheehan Boulevard and State Avenue in Port Charlotte.
The boy, Devin Fererly, was riding his bike in the southbound lane of Sheehan Boulevard north of State Avenue, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report, while an unknown vehicle was headed north on Sheehan, south of State. The vehicle, the report stated, crossed the double yellow centerline and hit Fererly, then left the scene.

The FHP Thursday updated its description of a suspect vehicle: Possibly a silver (light color), 2003 to 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck (possibly a Silverado with either an extended cab or crew cab) with damage to the driver side headlight/bumper area and possible damage to the windshield. (The truck is also possibly lifted and may have a chrome tool chest in bed of truck)
