CCSO can­cels miss­ing per­son alert

Update 7:08 p.m. Tues­day, March 1: The miss­ing Indi­ana man vis­it­ing Engle­wood has been located and returned home safely, accord­ing to the Char­lotte County Sheriff’s Office.

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – An Indi­ana man vis­it­ing Engle­wood has been reported missing.

Robert Van­nat­ter, 69, who suf­fers from a minor med­ical ail­ment, became sep­a­rated from rel­a­tives while bik­ing on Cougar Way near Sun­set Boule­vard at approx­i­mately 10:30 a.m.

He was last seen rid­ing a maroon Fugi bike, wear­ing a gray plaid shirt and blue shorts. He has brown hair and may be wear­ing eye­glasses. He is unfa­mil­iar with the area and has no cell phone or wal­let on his person.

Accord­ing to the Char­lotte County Sheriff’s Office, Van­nat­ter suf­fers from mem­ory loss and does not know his wife’s phone num­ber or the address where he is stay­ing. He also suf­fers from seizures.
