Alice R. Colombo, 84, of Venice passed away Mon­day, Feb. 1, 2016, at Tidewell Hos­pice in Port Char­lotte, Fla.

Born March 4, 1931 in Dear­born, Mich., to the late Samuel and Mary Bartha, Alice moved to Sara­sota County a year ago from Lake Wales, Fla., where she had resided for 28 years.  Prior to that she lived in Rochester Hills, Mich.

A lov­ing mother and home­maker for her fam­ily, Alice was a sec­re­tary for Grand Trunk West­ern Rail Road.  She loved to drive and saw most of the nat­ural beauty of Florida. An avid cro­cheter, she made many items that were given to veterans.

Sur­vivors include her daugh­ter, Andrea (Andrew Proc­tor) Colombo of Zionsville, Ind.; two sons, Mark (Bar­bara) Colombo of Leonard, Mich., and Christo­pher Colombo of Brethren, Mich.; a brother, Michael (Bobbi) Deer­ing; three grand­chil­dren: Chris­tine, Stephanie and Lance.
