James Franklin Moore, 74, of Engle­wood, Fla., died Sat­ur­day, Jan. 2, 2016, at Faw­cett Memo­r­ial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 1, 1941, in S. Boston, Va., to James K. and Lula (Chapel) Moore. James worked the fam­ily tobacco farm for more than 30 years. When he moved to Engle­wood in 1989 from S. Boston, he worked in the trans­porta­tion depart­ment of Faw­cett Memo­r­ial Hos­pi­tal for 10 years and then worked in the busi­ness office of Ambi Trans for 5 years.

Mr. Moore enjoyed tak­ing cruises and walk­ing his best friend, Tinkerbell.

He is sur­vived by the love of his life for 23 years, Mar­i­lyn Moore; his brother in-law, Barry DuFour; a niece, Eve­lyn (Harry) Bald­win; and a nephew, Lee (Gail) Yates.

A cel­e­bra­tion of his life will be held at noon Sat­ur­day, Jan. 16, 2016, at the Grove City Gazebo. Please make memo­r­ial con­tri­bu­tions in his mem­ory to the Sun Coast Humane Soci­ety, 6781 San Casa Drive, Engle­wood, FL 34224.
