Brownies reach out to help families through Englewood Helping Hand

Brownie Troop 304

Brownie Troop 304

Updated Sept. 28 with additional donation drop-off site.

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – Brownie Troop 304 is working on a quest to help others locally and has picked Englewood Helping Hand as the recipient of its efforts.

All the moms in the group shared on Facebook that the Troop is collecting items – clothes and food.

A representative from Helping Hands spoke to the girls Thursday night about families in need and collected all the donations gathered, so far. The girls heard how much the families are allowed to get each month and what they are always in need of, such as toilet paper.

The Brownies will be collecting until the end of the year, including at the Rotonda Christmas Parade, which is scheduled for 2 p.m. Dec. 5.

Also, though the end of the year, there is a collection table at Thoroughbred Golf Carts at 3301 Placida Road. Items can be dropped off there from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
