A funeral Mass is planned for May 30.

Ronald Clay­ton Fryer, 81, of Engle­wood, Fla., died Sun­day, May 24, 2015, at the Engle­wood Hos­pice House.

Born Aug. 20, 1933, in Willi­man­tic, Conn., to Harold C. and Lodia (Cassie) Fryer, Mr. Fryer served in the U.S. Army. He moved to Florida in 1988 from Mans­field, Conn., and was a com­mu­ni­cant of St. Fran­cis of Assisi Catholic Church.

He leaves his lov­ing fam­ily of three daugh­ters: Donna Riquier and Frank Mazzella of Cocoa Beach; Debra and George Lees of Port Char­lotte; Lau­rie and Michael Chilcot of Deland; a sis­ter, Glo­ria Jolie of Colum­bia, Conn.; six grand­chil­dren and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Sat­ur­day, May 30, at St. Fran­cis of Assisi Church, with mil­i­tary hon­ors to fol­low. Inter­ment will be in the St, Fran­cis Memo­r­ial Gar­den at a later date.
