Harold ‘Bing’ Dunn

Harold C. “Bing” Dunn, 98, of Engle­wood, Fla. Died Sat­ur­day, April 25, 2015, at Clare Bridge of Venice.

Born April 5, 1917, in Ben Avon, Pa., to Harold and Janet (Camp­bell) Dunn, Mr. Dunn grad­u­ated from Wes­leyan Uni­ver­sity in Mid­dle­town, Conn., in 1939 with a BA degree.He served in the Army Air Corps dur­ing World War II.

He was a part­ner in Hat­field & Dunn in Bridge­port, Conn., for 50 years and was the past com­modore of the Black Rock Yacht Club in Bridge­port and past pres­i­dent of East­ern Fair­field County YMCA. Bing moved to Engle­wood 29 years ago from Fair­field, Conn. His hob­bies included boat­ing and golfing.

Sur­vivors include his wife of 47 years, Natalie; a son, Jonathan (Martha) Dunn of Peter­bor­ough, N.H.; a brother, Don­ald Dunn of Colum­bus, Ohio; a sis­ter, Mary Janet MacKen­zie of Den­ver, Col.; five grand­chil­dren: Lau­ren Henry, Dar­ren Spinelli, Molly Pye, Natalie Dunn, Elsie Dunn; and three great grand­chil­dren. He was pre­ceded in death by his two daugh­ters, Dar­lene Pye and Diane Rapp.

In lieu of flow­ers, the fam­ily requests con­tri­bu­tions to Tidewell Hos­pice Inc. or Wes­leyan Uni­ver­sity in Mid­dle­town, Conn.
