William Joseph Golden Jr., 55, of Engle­wood passed away Thurs­day, April 9, 2015, at Lee Memo­r­ial Hos­pi­tal, after being involved in a auto acci­dent on Easter Sunday.

Born Aug. 21, 1959, in San Anto­nio, Texas, to William Joseph Golden Sr. and Sharon Kalkhoff, he served in the U.S. Army from 1977 until 1981. Bill has been a world trav­eler most of his life and, as a res­i­dent of Engle­wood for the last 10 years, he was the owner of the Savan­nah Cat Char­ters. For a time, Bill was a dri­ver for All Amer­i­can Trans­porta­tion in Punta Gorda.

Bill was a fre­quent caller on WENG-1530 and 1580-Ken Love­joy in Punta Gorda, and was affec­tion­ately known at Mili­tia Bill.

He is sur­vived by his father and step­mother, W. Joseph (Ann) Golden of Key West, Fla.; his lov­ing and devoted com­pan­ion of 15 years, Kyna Denny of Engle­wood; and many fam­ily and friends worldwide.

As per Bill’s wishes, his ashes will be laid to rest at sea.
