Ralph B. Bauer, 91, of Port Char­lotte, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on Tues­day, April 7, 2015.

He was born Oct. 24, 1923, in Eau Claire, Wis., to Robert and Matilda (Meixner) Bauer.

Ralph grad­u­ated from E.C. Senior High School in 1941. He proudly served in the Army Air Corp as an air­plane armorer until being hon­or­ably dis­charged in 1945. Ralph was a car­pen­ter by trade, and was employed as a build­ing main­te­nance super­vi­sor at UW-Eau Claire for 30 years before retir­ing in 1986. He was active in the Knights of Colum­bus and was a mem­ber of the 4th degree of KC’s. He also belonged to the Amer­i­can Legion.

Ralph will be greatly missed by his wife of 65 years, Rita (Boos) Bauer; a son, David (Paula) of Salem, Ore.; a daugh­ter, Con­nie (Mark) Mortensen of Flower Mound, Texas; grand­sons Ryan, Omar and Mikal Choud­hury; a sis­ter, Janet (Willard) Wil­son; and sev­eral nieces and nephews.

A memo­r­ial Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Wednes­day, April 15, at St. Fran­cis of Assisi Catholic Church. Inter­ment will fol­low in the memo­r­ial gar­den with mil­i­tary honors.
