C. James Lange

C. James Lange, 73, of Rotonda West, Fla., and a sea­sonal res­i­dent of Mound, Minn.,  died sud­denly on Sun­day, Feb. 22, 2015, at his Char­lotte County residence.

Born on July 17, 1941, in St. Peter, Minn., he served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a sec­ond lieu­tenant until the mid 1980s. An alu­mina of Mankato Uni­ver­sity, he started his own med­ical com­pany called Hart­land Med­ical, which became a fam­ily busi­ness until he retired in 2000.

Jim loved water ski­ing and snow ski­ing, hunt­ing and fish­ing, boat­ing and golf. Jim was employed by the Links Golf Club as well as play­ing there fre­quently on Wednes­days and Fridays.

Jim was a won­der­ful hus­band, father and grand­fa­ther. He was a mem­ber of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2710 in Rotonda West, and a part­ner with his wife, Ruth Anne, in the Big Brothers/Big Sis­ters Program.

Sur­vivors include his lov­ing wife of 47 years, Ruth Anne Lange; three daugh­ters: Rox­anne Lange of Steam Boat Springs, Colo.,  Catie (Travis) Clark of Des Moines, Iowa, and Ali­cia (Eric) Hoff­mann of Cor­co­ran, Minn.; a sis­ter,  Kather­ine (Bob) Parten of Prior Lake, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Lange of Elk River, Minn.; five grand­chil­dren and sev­eral nieces and nephews.

Mass of Chris­t­ian bur­ial will be held at 10 a.m. Mon­day, March 2, at St. Fran­cis of Assisi Parish. Inurn­ment will be in Minnesota.
