Donald M. Ciccarone, 80

A Memo­r­ial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Fri­day, Feb. 20, at St. Fran­cis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Don­ald Michael Cic­carone, 80, a Port Char­lotte res­i­dent and area con­trac­tor, died Mon­day, Feb. 16, 2015, at Tidewell Hos­pice lnc. in Port Charlotte.

Don was a 1952 grad­u­ate of Mas­silon Wash­ing­ton High School in Mas­silon, Ohio. He attended Kent State Uni­ver­sity for two years. He worked as a car painter before going into busi­ness with his father for many years as the own­ers of C&C Cement Con­trac­tors in Can­ton, Ohio.

After mov­ing to the Engle­wood area in 1983, he and his son Christo­pher owned Cic­carone & Cic­carone lnc. As an Eagle Scout, he was a part-time coun­selor at Camp Tus­ca­zoar in Boli­var, Ohio, and spent a sum­mer work­ing on Philmont Boy Scout Ranch in New Mex­ico. He was a ham radio oper­a­tor, KNBG and a for­mer Grand Knight of K of C Coun­cil 7672.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 58 years, Grace (McFa­nen); daugh­ter Lisa Angel (Ted) of Pick­er­ing­ton, Ohio; four sons: Christo­pher (Con­nie) of Port Char­lotte, D. Gregg (spe­cial friend Linda Ful­mer) of Venice, Mitchell (Sheila) of Can­ton, Ohio, and Michael (Jeanna) of Venice; sis­ters Car­ole Spadafora, Judee Bedenko and Bernadette Cor­nelius; 12 grand­chil­dren and12 great-grandchildren. He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, Regina and George Cic­carone, and a sis­ter, Nina Finsel.

A Memo­r­ial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Fri­day, Feb. 20, at St. Fran­cis of Assisi Catholic Church 5265 Placida Road, Grove City.
