Charles Bruce Craig, 88

Charles Bruce Craig, 88, of Engle­wood, Fla., passed away Fri­day, Dec. 5, 2014, at Sun­set Lake Nurs­ing & Reha­bil­i­ta­tion in Venice, Fla.

Born on March 30, 1926, in Wood­stock, Ontario, Canada, to Charles and Flo­rence (Bur­rus) Craig, Bruce served in Cana­dian Navy dur­ing World War II. A res­i­dent of Char­lotte County since com­ing from Flint, Mich., in 1997, he retired from Gen­eral Motors in 1981 after 30 years.

A Pres­by­ter­ian by faith, he was a mem­ber of the Loyal Order of Moose 1933 and Fra­ter­nal Order of Eagles Aerie #3885, both of Engle­wood, and the Royal Cana­dian Legion. Bruce loved build­ing and fly­ing model air­planes, fish­ing and dancing.

Bruce is pre-deceased by his wife, Mar­ian Ervin Craig, and a sis­ter, Flo­rence Hutchison.

Sur­vivors include his daugh­ter, Pamela (Rick) Hall of Durand, Mich.; two sons, Rod­ney (Debi) Craig of Davi­son, Mich., and Michael (Sandy) Craig of Bur­ton, Mich.; his com­pan­ion, Pauline Allen of Engle­wood; four grand­chil­dren: Todd and Tony Craig, Brian and Shawn Hall; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral ser­vice and bur­ial will be in Flint.
