Edward Kapralian, 77, of Engle­wood, Fla., passed away Thurs­day, Aug. 21, 2014, at Faw­cett Memo­r­ial Hos­pi­tal in Port Charlotte.

Born June 17, 1937, in Racine, Wisc., he had been a res­i­dent of Char­lotte County for 25 years since com­ing from Racine.

Ed was employed by Holman’s Fish Mar­ket and was able to pur­chase it; and, after 30 years, he retired to Engle­wood. Ed loved to “tin­ker” and enjoyed work­ing in his work­shop and in his yard. Ed was a Christian.

Sur­vivors include his lov­ing and devoted wife of 26 years, Betty Kapralian of Engle­wood; four chil­dren: Jean (Tim) Rin­genoldus of Mil­wau­kee, Wisc., Dave (Beth) Kapralian of Racine, Wisc., Mary (Jason) Sears of North Port, and Ken­neth Swencki of Port Char­lotte; a daughter-in-law, Cather­ine Stew­art of Port Char­lotte; two broth­ers, George (Glo­ria) Kapralian of Las Vegas, Nev., and Charles (Bon­nie) Kapralian of Sturte­vant, Wisc.; two sis­ters, Shirley (Stan) Urquhart of Fort Myers and Julie Kapralian of Racine, Wisc.; four grand­chil­dren who knew him as Grampa Eddie and Papa: Danny Rin­genoldus, Cameron and McKen­zie Stew­art and Skyler Swencki; sev­eral nieces and nephews; many good friends and neighbors.

A memo­r­ial gath­er­ing will be held at a later date.

Engle­wood Com­mu­nity Funeral Home with Pri­vate Cre­ma­tory has been selected to han­dle arrangements.
