Joan Stevens

Joan Stevens, 88, of Engle­wood, for­merly of Ply­mouth, Mass., passed away peace­fully on Wednes­day, Nov. 23, 2011, at Engle­wood Health & Reha­bil­i­ta­tion Center.

Born Nov. 12, 1923, in Ply­mouth, Mass., to Clifton and Beu­lah (Hask­ins) Gard­ner; she had been a res­i­dent of Engle­wood for 43 years since com­ing from Plymouth.

Joan and her late hus­band, Dean, were well known through their asso­ci­a­tion with the fam­ily flower shop, Stevens the Florist, in Englewood.

Joan is pre-deceased by her hus­band, and two sis­ters, Ruth and Betty.

Sur­vivors include her son, Kent (Kathy) Stevens of Lees­burg; two daugh­ters, Linda Stevens and Diane (Greg) Tolo­nen, both of Engle­wood. She is also sur­vived by five grand­chil­dren: Ben, Katie and Ali Stevens, Evan Tolo­nen and Jenny (Jim) Wat­son, and many nieces and nephews.

A life cel­e­bra­tion will be held at 3 p.m. Sat­ur­day, Dec. 10, at Engle­wood Com­mu­nity Funeral Home & Pri­vate Cre­ma­tory, 3070 S. McCall Road.
