Suspect in car wash coin theft sought

A car wash coin theft sus­pect is caught on the secu­rity camera.

Crime Stop­pers is ask­ing for the public’s help iden­ti­fy­ing a man who Char­lotte County deputies say raided two coin oper­ated machines at an Engle­wood car wash last Thursday.

A car thought to belong to the sus­pect shows up on a secu­rity tape.

Sur­veil­lance cam­eras cap­tured the sus­pect on tape just before he took a car wash broom and moved the cam­era at the front of the Suds Car Wash, located at 4053 S. McCall Road in Engle­wood. He is sus­pected of bust­ing into two coin machines, tak­ing approx­i­mately $90 in quar­ters from each machine. Deputies say he was dri­ving a gold
