This event is the largest beach and waterway cleanup program, with volunteers around the world participating. Last year 498,818 volunteers from 108 countries removed 7.4 million pounds of trash. The data collected provides a road map for eliminating marine debris altogether by reducing it at the source, changing behaviors that cause it and supporting debris prevention policies.

Bags, gloves and data sheets will be provided as well as light refreshments. T-shirts will be supplied to the first arrivals (while supplies last).

This Clean-up effort is organized by the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center and is sponsored by Keep Charlotte Beautiful.  To register or for further information, call 941−475−0769.
