The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office will pay special attention to traffic enforcement along Placida Road from South McCall Road to Rotonda Boulevard West from Sept. 6–12.
Placida Road was the site of 22 crashes in 2009 involving 37 vehicles, injuring 7 and causing $149,100 in damage.

The CCSO is also focusing special attention to enforcing the law at the traffic light at South McCall Road and Beach Road.
There were 14 crashes at the light in 2009, involving 32 vehicles, injuring five and causing $54,060 in damages.
In Port Charlotte, drivers should see stepped-up patrols along Veteran’s Boulevard from Peachland Boulevard. to Harbor Boulevard, where, in 2009, there were 22 crashes involving 37 vehicles, injuring 12 and causing $149,100 in damage.
The traffic light at U.S. 41 and Harbor Boulevard will see more law enforcement. In 2009, there were 25 crashes involving 52 vehicles, injuring 13 causing $66,250 in damages.
