Women’s professional group inducts new members

Two new mem­bers were inducted July 20 at the din­ner meet­ing of the Busi­ness and Pro­fes­sional Women of Engle­wood and Venice at Boca Royale Coun­try Club.

Join­ing the orga­ni­za­tion were Kath­leen Kessler and Sue Lang.

BPW Engle­wood and Venice mem­bers gather for a din­ner meet­ing the third Tues­day evening of every month at Boca Royale Coun­try Club. Reser­va­tions are required and can be made by vis­it­ing the web­site at http://www.bpwev.org. The next meet­ing will be Aug. 17. The speaker will be Sara Hand, who will speak on the topic of  “Women for such a time as this.”

The Busi­ness and Pro­fes­sional Women’s orga­ni­za­tion was founded in 1919 and is a grass-roots, non-partisan orga­ni­za­tion whose mis­sion is to achieve equity for all women in the work­place through advo­cacy, edu­ca­tion and infor­ma­tion. The local orga­ni­za­tion was started in 1960 and will be cel­e­brat­ing its 50th anniver­sary at a din­ner meet­ing on Oct. 23. Mem­ber­ship to this orga­ni­za­tion is open to any­one (both gen­ders) who sup­ports its mission.
