Theodore L. Bonnough, 75, of Englewood died July 20, 2010.
Born Feb. 11, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio, Ted was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force assigned to President Kennedy and family at Washington National Airport. He retired in 1961. Ted was also retired project manager for the Department of Energy.
Ted loved softball, sailing and reading.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Connie; daughter Tana Shoup; twin sisters-in-law Fran Behnke and Bettie Penrod; four grandchildren: John and Derek Shoup, Megan Holt and Dakota Bonnough; three great grandchildren: Mia Shoup, Ma Kenna and Tallen Holt. Also, he is survived by his cousin, Ed (Linda) Yarchenko of Englewood and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Saage Bonnough. Ted will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Englewood Sports Complex ball field on South River Road in Englewood.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Suncoast Humane Society, 6781 San Casa Drive, Englewood, FL 34224. Lemon Bay Funeral Home, Englewood is in charge of cremation arrangements.
