Earl N. Conrad, 84

Earl N. Con­rad, 84, of Engle­wood passed away Fri­day, July 16, 2010, at his residence.

He was born May 3, 1926, in Detroit.

Earl served in the U.S. Army dur­ing World War II. He retired from the Ford Motor Com­pany as a draft­ing super­vi­sor and moved to Florida in 1986 from Tren­ton, Mich. Mr. Con­rad was a mem­ber of Fel­low­ship Church and the VFW in North Port, and he enjoyed traveling.

He is sur­vived by his daugh­ter, Jean Scal­isi of Engle­wood; his son, Earl N. Con­rad Jr. and his wife Gale of North Port; eight grand­chil­dren and six great grand­chil­dren. He was pr-deceased by his wife, Kath­leen, in 1990.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Mon­day at Engle­wood Com­mu­nity Funeral Home, Inc., 3070 S. McCall Road. Inter­ment will be in Gulf Pines Memo­r­ial Park on Tuesday.

In lieu of flow­ers the fam­ily requests con­tri­bu­tions in Mr. Conrad’s name to Tidewell Hos­pice, Inc. 5955 Rand Blvd. Sara­sota, FL 34238.

Engle­wood Com­mu­nity Funeral Home and Cre­ma­tion Ser­vice has been selected to han­dle arrangements.
