Tamara K. Wood, 81, of Venice died Sun­day, July 4, 2010.

She was born July 5, 1928 in Ban­ga­lore, India and has been a res­i­dent of Venice since 1973, com­ing from Bal­ti­more, Md. She was employed by Gen­eral Tele­phone Com­pany for 14 years.

Mrs. Wood is sur­vived by her son, Jerry (Betty) Wood of Chester, Md.; sis­ters Joan Doran of Toms River, N.J., Laura Goss and Doreen Sell, both of Eng­land; broth­ers Leonard C. Goss and Den­zil I. Goss, both of Eng­land; grand­chil­dren Lisa Hel­wig of Andover, Pa., Jonathan L. Wood of Chester, Md. and Jason L. Wood of Sara­sota; and two great-grandchildren. Tamara was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, John Calvin Wood.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednes­day, July 7, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thurs­day, July 8, at Kays-Ponger & Usel­ton Funeral Home Venice Chapel, 1935 S. Tami­ami Trail.

Funeral ser­vices will be held at 1 p.m. Thurs­day at Kays-Ponger & Usel­ton Funeral Home Venice Chapel. Bur­ial will fol­low at Venice Memo­r­ial Gardens.
