Lois Lorraine Minkler, 83

Lois Lorraine Minkler, 83, of Venice passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010 after a brief illness.
Mrs. Minkler was born Feb. 27, 1927 to Martin and Anna (Boller) Roth.
Lois worked as a secretary in Chicago for 33 years. She was a founding member and secretary of the “Good Timers” in Woodhaven Lakes, Sublette, Ill. After visiting Florida for four years, Lois moved to Venice with her husband in 1998. She especially loved gardening, but also was devoted to playing the organ, cooking, crocheting and painting. She became a member of the Venice Presbyterian Church on Oct. 24, 2009 and was a member of the Christian Women’s Club.
Lois is survived by her husband, Francis “Sarge” A. Minkler of Venice; her children, Michael Behan, Martin Behan, Mark Behan and Suzanne Boffo of Illinois; her 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Behan.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home Venice Chapel, 1935 S. Tamiami Trail. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Elmhurst, Ill.
